The first LDC Racing Sailboats to be introduced to South African waters in July 2009 will be the RS Tera and RS Feva sailing dinghies, both of which are recognised ISAF International classes. Both these dinghies are already well established in competition and leisure sailing across the U.K., Australia and throughout Europe. In fact, the RS Feva was the outright world's best selling two person sailboat in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, winner of Dinghy of the Year in the USA, Coup de Coeurs in France, is an RYA Recognised Junior class…the list of honours goes on and on. The RS Tera and the RS Feva are both manufactured to exacting standards using the latest state of the art three layer Comptec PE3 construction system in the U.K. by LDC Racing Sailboats. The first container load of the RS Tera and RS Feva dinghies is scheduled to land in South Africa early in July just in time to be showcased at the National Boat Show in Johannesburg during August. The Southern Africa distributorship of the LDC Racing sailboats has been exclusively awarded to RS Sailing South Africa. Bulk warehousing and distribution of the RS sailboats, a comprehensive range of spares, accessories and RS sailing clothing will be performed from Port Elizabeth. Sales and servicing will be performed by properly trained representatives in all major sailing centres across the country Between now and then the RS Tera and RS Feva dinghy classes will be registered with South African Sailing (SAS) to facilitate class entries to all provincial and national regattas. It is hoped to showcase both yachts at National Boat Show in Gauteng from 14 till 16 August prior to their official launch on 25 September during the Eastern Cape All Class Provincial Regatta at Mossel Bay Yacht Club. Between their arrival in South Africa and the East Cape Provincial Regatta a roadshow to introduce the new and exciting RS Tera and RS Feva sailboats will tour the country allowing both sailors and sailing instructors to test drive both dinghies on their own water. A limited quantity of RS Tera’s will be made available to qualifying sailing schools as demonstration craft conditional to each recipient entering and sailing their allocated RS Tera in the E.Cape Provincial Regatta. Advance orders for any of the RS sailboats to be delivered with the initial consignment are being accepted till 15 June 2009 at www.rssailing.co.za and will enjoy an extraordinary pre-launch discount. As part of our commitment to both local sailors and RS Racing, we guarantee that local ZAR pricing will never exceed the equivalent RS selling prices of the United Kingdom. Dinghy sailing clubs wishing to apply for use of a demonstration boat and sailing schools / sailing instructors interested in promoting the RS sailboats should please enquire as soon as possible.
